The leather is the ultimate definition of luxury today. Leather accessories are universal. They can go very well with office wear, smart wear, party wear, casual wear and street wear. So, what makes a leather handbag so attractive? A nice leather bag completes your outfit and gives you that extra little bit of confidence while you go through your day.
Leather and its manufacture:
In its’ rudimentary form, leather is the hide obtained from an animal such as a cow lamp and exotic animals like reptile’s alligators and many more. These hides are initially cleaned to remove hair and debris through cleaning. Post this, the hide is tanned and stretched as it is subjected to various chemical processes. The type of leather produced depends upon the chemical process the hide has been subjected. It can be soft leather, to suede to hard stiff leather. Each version of leather has its use.
Right leather for the right job:
Faux leather is the most preferred option for making leather bags for men. This is not actual leather and is made to give a good impression of the product. However, unlike its natural counterpart, cowhide leather, faux leather is free of the crease and too smooth for the real thing. But the difference lies in the texture. Cowhide leather is more durable and rougher. Lambskin leather is a good choice for smaller wallets, money bags and/or purse. As the name suggests, it is made out of sheepskin and has reduced durability but very soft texture. Patch leather is created using multiple pieces of cow skin, lambskin and faux leather, not the most natural choice for leather handbags. The grain of the leather matters as well. Always go for full grain leather as there is no separation between the layers. The second-best alternative is top grain that features separation between the two top layers.
